After a six week posting to The Falklands and a busy appearance schedule, The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge finally got some alone time!

The pair took a much needed break to the Trois Vallees Ski Resort in France.  A gorgeous ski resort, it is also the “largest ski area in the world which is connected solely by ski lifts and slopes”.  Click here to read the Travel Story written in The Telegraph last December.

Even though I do not get to ski that much (you know, living in Australia and all!) I do love the sport and think it is an excellent romantic getaway!  The pair looked great together, enjoying the slopes and time together.
I also appreciate that they are both wearing helmets!  Well done, setting a great example!

Kate did bring along her family (who rumour has it financed the whole trip!) which I think is a bit odd… but to each there own!  The Middletons are known to be a very close family and William gets along with everyone very well.

The family did seem to colour coordinate (which I’m loving, because it is not to over the top!) with the red, black and white.  I’m also loving Carole’s (fake) fur hat!  Although, it seems Carole may have raided Kate’s closet for this piece.  According to Rebecca English at The Daily Mail “… it seems the fake fur band was originally destined for Kate’s head – and was sent to her by British firm Fosi,  via her parents’ company, after her engagement to Prince William was announced in late 2010”.

Fosi (Fun Original Style Innovation) designs “Helmet Bands” – intended to make ski helmets more attractive.  Click here to have a look at their website and products they offer.

While William was away we did get to see a lot of Kate; solo, with The Queen and making her first speech!  It is understood that with William back home, the two will be seen less in public over the coming months and will be enjoying some much needed alone time (with their puppy!)

Looking at these photos makes me want to go skiing, although it does look awful cold!  To read more and see more photos, click here for the story in The Daily Mail
